STORE SHOPPING GUIDE
Before you shop Nordstrom
When shopping for clothing, shoes or a special-occasion item, prioritize fit, materials and the occasion date. A discounted item that needs unexpected alterations or expedited delivery may cost more than you planned.
A better way to compare
Compare the exact style and size, then check the estimated delivery date and any seller-specific terms. Leave tags attached while deciding. For an event purchase, allow time to assess the fit without relying on an assumption that every return will be accepted.
Your shopping checklist
- Read product measurements and fit notes.
- Check whether a third-party seller supplies the item.
- Keep special-occasion or designer tags attached as required.
- Distinguish Nordstrom from Nordstrom Rack policies.
When to put this store on your shortlist
Consider it for an occasion outfit, footwear or a specific style where fit and delivery timing matter. Include alteration costs and time in your budget before comparing retailers.
A common shopping mistake to avoid
Do not transfer a Nordstrom policy assumption to Nordstrom Rack or a third-party seller. Keep the listing's seller details and purchase channel with your order confirmation.
Keep researching before checkout
Compare an exact item and its total cost, not just the discount headline. These are research alternatives, not a ranking or a promise of lower prices.

Policy watch
Nordstrom's reviewed policy handles returns case by case and describes prepaid mail returns. Some products and purchase channels have different rules, including third-party seller deadlines. A general return philosophy is not a guarantee that any item in any condition will be accepted.
